It's Monday Here's What I've Been Reading

Monday, August 23, 2010
It's Monday What Are You Reading is a wonderful weekly meme hosted by Shelia  at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books, and asks you to answer the question: What are you reading?

Well, my first week of school has come and gone, and I am happy to report I have some avid readers (including some great parents) who love to read too. Sadly, I have some non-readers too, but I have a whole year to help influence them about the joy of reading.

Unfortunately for me, my reading and reviewing has been greatly curtailed by meetings, lesson planning, and going to work everyday. Thankfully, grading papers has not even begun yet.

Here's what I did get read this week:

Infinite Days by Rebecca Maizel
Fledgling by Mark A. Cooper
The Secret Society of the Crystal Ball by Risa Green

And
I am currently listening to Paper Towns by John Green

My 250+ Followers Giveaway ends Thursday so make sure you have entered to win. As promise I will be giving away not one but two $25 Amazon gift  cards or $25 worth of books from the Book Depository.

Finally, I want to thank Sue at Great Book for Kids and Teens for giving me the  the Versatile Blogger Award recently. I love checking in on what Sue and her two boys, Craig and Jamie, are reading. Sue's reviews are always fantastic, and I get some great suggestions for books to add to my school library because Craig and Jamie both read middle school books. Thanks again Sue.

Once again I will be late getting around today to see what everyone else is reading since I am limited to early morning and late afternoons, but I hope to find out how your week went, and what lovely books you  enjoyed last week and your plans for this week.

I always assumed you are a librarian, but now it seems to me (my brain, it's thinking) that you're a teacher (?) What grade to you teach, if so, ?

My library hasn't quite opened up to the students yet. I have over 200 books to get entered in, and I'm already getting pressured by the boss to open up. I get 7 hours a week to hold library sessions, enter books, shelve books and do the whole processing of new books thing. man.

Your titles look delicious. I've not heard of any of the titles. Love your blog header. I had to take a button. Thank you. Thanks for teaching the next generation too.

I'm reading two YA titles this week and enjoying both so far. Paper Towns has been on Mt TBR for quite a while so I'll be interested to see what you think. Maybe you'll encourage me to pull it off the bookshelf :-)

Hope you can squeeze in reading time this week!

I am glad that you are able to get back in the swing of things. I hope that you have a great year and are able to turn some non-readers into readers! Good luck! :)

*Confession: when I was a kidlet I always loved going back to school. I was also crazy about school supplies! :P

I think you managed a lot while working full-time this week! My boys go back to school next week - one more week of summer vacation!

I've been meaning to read a John Green book for ages but haven't gotten around to it yet - I look forward to your review.

Thanks for the acknowledgment and shout out!

Sue
