It Monday Here's What I'm Reading

Monday, June 14, 2010

This wonderful weekly meme is hosted by Shelia  at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books, and asks you to answer the question What are you reading?

Man did this week just fly by. I can't believe it is Monday already.

I participated in the third Bloggiesta and have to say I really got a lot done (see my Bloggiesta # 3 Wrap-Up) except read. If you have never taken part in a Bloggiesta then trust me when I say it is a learning and growing experience and would urge you to make a point of being part of the next one.

I finished three books this week:

Sea Glass by Marie V Snyder (this was an audio version)

Definitely can't wait to find out what happens in Spy Glass. Just wish I didn't have to wait till September.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

This is not my normal read but it's summer and I wanted to try an adult book. It was quite a thriller although slow starting. I also hope to read the other two in the series because I loved the characters.

The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender

This is definitely a crossover book as Rose the narrator is nine when the story opens and it follows through her teen years.

Make sure you enter my Time to Share Giveaway for a chance to win The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake, Perchance to Dream by Lisa Mantchev, or a signed copy of My Name is Memory by Anne Brashares. Ends 6/24

This is a pretty ambitious list for me, and I have a wedding to attend on Saturday, plus Sunday is Father's Day so I will have to get a lot down during the week.

I've got Storm Glass to read and can't wait to get around to it. Hopefully soon. I got through a chapter or two of Dragon Tattoo and thought it started slow too so it's been put aside for a while now. Glad you liked it though. Some great looking novels you have coming up!

I participated in the Bloggiesta too and agree, it is a great way to give your blog a little spring cleaning. I still have a lot I could do.... I think I need to extend Bloggiesta through the week :)

Glad to hear you liked The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. My book club read that before I joined it, but I've heard great things from everyone about it! Hope you have a great week :)

Glad to know of the slow start, and also glad to know that you liked the characters.

Another great crossover book, if you haven't tried it yet, is The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley. The protag is eleven and very interested in chemistry.
