Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases.
She is the headstrong daughter of the hound and the bear, heir to all her royal parents' magic and able to transform at will into any animal she wishes. He is an outcast, a boy without magic, determined to make his way in the forest beholden to no one. Though Liva and Jens are as different as night and day, from the time their paths first cross they are irresistibly drawn to one another. Each wrestles with demons: Liva with the responsibility that comes with the vast magic she's inherited, Jens with the haunting memories he's left behind. Separately, they keep a lookout for each other and for the immense snowbird whose appearances signify a dark event on the horizon. When a terrible threat surfaces, Liva and Jens set out in an attempt to protect all they hold dear. Much is at stake—for while their failure could spell an end to all magic, their success could bring them together at last.

In addition to this lovely book, Harrison has a new book called Tris and Izzie coming out in the fall of 2011(no cover available yet). It is a modern retelling of the German legend "Tristan and Isolde" about a young witch named Izzie who is dating Mark King, the captain of the basketball team and thinks her life is going swimmingly well. Until-- she makes a love potion for her best friend Brangane and then ends up taking it herself accidentally, and falling in love with Tristan, the new guy at school. Light, contemporary romantic fantasy for teens (from author's web site).
Gotta love those retellings.
What are you waiting on?

I love the cover of this book. Pretty.
My WOW is http://mardel-rabidreader.blogspot.com/2010/04/waiting-on-wednesday-waiting-for-payday.html . As usual, I go a little overboard, wanting so many books.
I saw that you're working the 2010 YA challenge, and 75 books. Oh my goodness! I'm worried about all the challenges I'm trying. I've read a grand total of 17 books so far! 17. :)
Ooooooooooooooooo super cool choice!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my W.O.W. :)
The cover is amazing!!! I have the first book in this series, but haven't read it yet.
I love books about "headstrong" women!
My pick actually came out two days ago here in Canada, but I just couldn't help highlighting it!
If a retelling is done right, it really is worth reading. This book sounds like one definitely worth reading. I'll be on the lookout.
Wow, I will keep an eye out for this one. Great pick. My WOW and review of Day For Night by Frederick Reiken are up at The Crowded Leaf.
I so love the sound of both the books. I cant wait to read those two. :)
I'm looking forward to reading both of these books now!
My pick is at BookSake.
I've been wanting to check this series of books out--this one looks really interesting!
Great cover! This book definitely sounds like something I'd enjoy. Thanks for sharing it and thanks for visiting my WoW!
Wow, beautiful cover. It sounds really interesting as well.
I hadn't heard of this, but it sounds great!
I love fairy tale retellings, so it's pretty surprising I haven't read ANY of Harrison's books yet.
Both of those books sound excellent. Great WoW choices! :)
