It's Monday Here's What I Am Reading

Monday, November 22, 2010

It's Monday What Are You Reading is a wonderful weekly meme hosted by Shelia  at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books, and asks the question: What are you reading?

Good morning, I just flew in from Orlando and boy are my arms are tired!

I know, an old joke, but honestly that's exactly how I feel. I left for the NTEC conference, which was held in Disney World, Thursday morning, and got back Sunday afternoon, and I am worn out. This was my first national conference, and about the only thing I can say that went right, was all the fabulous books (many of them ARCs) I got from the various venders, who were there. Here are just a few of the books I carried home with me.

Teenie by Christopher Grant
Wishful Thinking by Alexandra Bullen
Sean Griswold's Head by Lindsey Leavitt
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
Numbers: The Chaos by Rachel Ward
Inifinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon
The Flappers:Vixen by Jullian Larkin
Songs of a Teenage Nomad by Kim Culbertson
War Child: A Child Soldier's Story by Emmanuel Jal
Cate of the Lost Colony by Lisa Klein
Nightspell by Leah Cypess
Clarity by Kim Harrington

I have another whole box of books that I shipped, including not one but two signed copies of Cloaked by Alex Flinn (can you see a giveaway coming soon). I was really excited about meeting Alex, because I loved Beastly, and A Kiss in Time so much I created an entire unit around the books for my students.

I have to admit I was not impressed with Disney World, and that holding the conference there was a terrible idea. Without a car to navigate the immense park, I was forced to be bussed every where, and walk miles every day. I will say that the park is beautiful, and the people who work there extraordinary at customer service.

So, my week's reading was close to non-existent.

I am currently reading:

Tyger Tyger by  Kersten Hamilton and enjoying it a lot. I hope to finish this today.

Last week I only had time for one review.

Mockingbirds by Daisy Whitney

And if you haven't already entered my Gratitude Giveway there is still time as it ends November 28. Make sure you check out all the other blogs participating in the giveaway.

Also make sure you check back December 1st for my 21 days of Blogoversary/Birthday Bash, because I have got some great giveaways planned.

So how was your week? What have you been reading?

Nice haul! I loved Delirium, hope you do too. Get some rest this week! I only work two school days and I plan to read, read, read when I'm not with family.

Looking forward to see what you come up with for December--My blogiversary is in January and I am looking for some ideas. I've already got a few planned, but I'd like to have a whole bunch.

Thanks for sharing your loot!

What an exciting week you've had! There's nothing quite like book events to get those juices flowing.

Hope you enjoy all of your books, and thanks for visiting my blog.

That conference sounds lovely! And this is a nice time of year to be in Disney World...it's so cold where I live that Florida is a nice change :) That stack of books is fantastic!

Hope you have a great holiday week :)

I can't even imagine having a conference at Walt Disney World!! I wouldn't want to go to the conference, I'd just want to play all day! But it looks like you got some great books, I've really wanted to read Clarity!

Hope you enjoy Tyger Tyger (I've heard great things!) and have a Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you so much for stopping by earlier! :o)

What a great lot of books you snagged! But I agree - Disney World is probably not the best choice for a conference. Sounds like you had a pretty good time anyway, though!

Enjoy your books.

To counter balance the large number of academic journal articles I'm reading, I read a bunch of books off my wishlist. I also finished up some text books. Here's what I'm reading this week.
