It's Monday Here's What I Am Reading

Monday, November 1, 2010

It's Monday What Are You Reading is a wonderful weekly meme hosted by Shelia  at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books, and asks the question: What are you reading?

Although it was a busy week in some aspects, it was a slow reading week for me. I had started a couple book last week and am still trying to get through them, but was really having a hard time, so I started a couple more. Not my usual mode of operandi.

Books read:

Nightshade City by Hilary Wagner (well-written, but not totally my kinda read)

Deception by Lee Nichols (very enjoyable)

The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness (this was an audio book and awesome except when I got to the end; then I was horrified because it left me with one of the most frustrating cliffhangers ever!)

Reviews Post:

I Now Pronounce You Someone Else by  Erin McCahan (make sure you check out Erin's guest post and my giveaway of her book)

Freefall by Mindi Scott (really a great contemporary fiction)

The Dead Boys by Royce Buckingham (excellent middle school scary story)

Currently Listening to:

A Way with Words II Approached to Literature by Professor Michael Drout ( This a series of lecture, which are quite informative and fun without being too esoteric).

Happy All Saints Day. Can you believe it's November already!

All of the book titles you listed have very interesting names. Now of course, I'm wondering which ones you were having difficulty getting into.

I had the best reading week I've had in a long time, but it took getting sick to do it - figures! LOL. At least I was able to read some good books. Always a brighter side...even if it's from darkest to just dark...It wasn't that bad though, got through it.

I also like the covers of the books you read. Interesting eye catching covers.

I'm glad to hear that you liked Deception. I want to read the Patrick Ness books and I Now Pronounce You Someone Else too. I hope you enjoy your books this week. I've had weeks where it was hard to keep reading and I started different books too.

It really is incredible to think it's already November. Crazy! I can't wait for the holidays to get here though, so much fun!

Oh, I have The Dead Boys for review as well and your review has inspired me to bump it up in my pile! I may even read it this week! Especially since it sounds so "creepy".

I also had no idea The Knife of Never Letting Go left a cliffhanger! Maybe that's why I haven't picked it up yet. Is there a sequel I haven't heard about?

Anywho...thanks for stopping by earlier, as usual! I really do appreciate it! Hope you have a fabulous reading week and Happy All Saints Day to you as well!

I can't believe it's November either! Busy time of year for sure. I enjoyed Deception as well and love the cover of The Marbury Lens that's on your sidebar!

I love the cover of "I now Pronounce You," but fear it will be really stupid, once you actually open it. Sigh. I'm currently eagerly awaiting the 4th installment of Nora Roberts and her "bride" series (though not so much that I actually remember the title of the forthcoming book!) and the new (and last, sadly) Robert Parker Spenser novel. Just finished "Principle Destiny" by David Cleinman -- fun YA fantasy/romance novel, with a thousand-mile challenge, brother-sister competition for the throne, good vs. evil contests, etc. Our heroine, Alyssa, often feels completely alone and bereft, but she perseveres, as she knows it's the only way to get what she needs to feel whole again.

And finally -- tomorrow is Election Day! Get out and vote!
