Waiting on Wednesday Pathfinder by Orson Scott Card

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the SpineThis meme spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I am a big fan or Orson Scott Card. His Ender's Game is one of my all time favorite Science Fiction novels and is read by every eighth grade Simga student at the school I work for. This new book looks very promising and I am anxiously awaiting its release.

A powerful secret. A dangerous path.

Rigg is well trained at keeping secrets. Only his father knows the truth about Rigg's strange talent for seeing the paths of people's pasts. But when his father dies, Rigg is stunned to learn just how many secrets Father had kept from him--secrets about Rigg's own past, his identity, and his destiny. And when Rigg discovers that he has the power not only to see the past, but also to change it, his future suddenly becomes anything but certain.
Rigg’s birthright sets him on a path that leaves him caught between two factions, one that wants him crowned and one that wants him dead. He will be forced to question everything he thinks he knows, choose who to trust, and push the limits of his talent…or forfeit control of his destiny.(Publisher's Summary from Amazon)

I've never actually read Orson Scott Card (I know, crazy, right?), but I have a copy of Ender's Game on my bookshelf. One of my flatmates read it a few months ago and loved it. I guess I really need to get around to reading it too!

Great pick! I will have to add this one to my TBR list. My students LOVED Ender's Game so hopefully this one will be just as good!
