The Carrie Diaries is the coming-of-age story of one of the most iconic characters of our generation.
Before Sex and the City, Carrie Bradshaw was a small town girl who knew she wanted more. She's ready for real life to start, but first she must navigate her senior year of high school. Up until now, Carrie and her friends have been inseparable. Then Sebastian Kydd comes into the picture, and a friend's betrayal makes her question everything.
With an unforgettable cast of characters, The Carrie Diaries is the story of how a regular girl learns to think for herself, and evolves into a sharp, insightful writer. Readers will learn about her family background, how she found her writing voice, and the indelible impression her early friendships and relationships left on her. Through adventures both audacious and poignant, we'll see what brings Carrie to her beloved New York City, where her new life begins (from Powell Books).

I admit it I was a big fan of Sex and The City, and still watch reruns when I can. So when I saw this book by Bushnell, who is after all a very funny writer, I knew that this was going to be a must read for me. Not really loving the cover though, and I doubt fashion diva Carrie wouldn't care for it either.

Huh, I didn't even realize Bushnell was writing a prequel! Cool. I didn't enjoy The Sex and The City novel, but then again, I may have been expecting something very similiar othe show, when they are pretty different!

My WoW for this week over at bookwanderer.

Do you know that I never once watched an episode of Sex in the City. All my friends tell me I am weird. I am not really sure why I didn't. It is just one of those things. Perhaps, I wil one day sit down and watch a rerun...who knows. I hope that you will enjoy it. Here's mine

I've never read any of Bushnell's books although I did occasionally watch the show and I saw the movie. I don't know if I'd like the book but I might give it a try. I agree with you about the cover. It doesn't look very pretty and I think something more fashionable would appeal more to YA girls, especially fans of The Gossip Girls, etc.
