Top Ten Books I've Read Because of Another Blogger

Tuesday, September 13, 2011
Because we all love lists, this meme created by The Broke and the Bookish was created to give us a chance to combine that love with our passion for books.

It is impossible to be a part of this community without being greatly influenced by  the opinions of others, so this week in honor of BBAW my list of top ten books is based on books I read and loved because of the recommendation of another blogger whose review of these books had me saying I gotta read that!

The Fever Series by Karen Moning: I devoured this entire series after reading a review of one of the books by  Natalie at Mindful Musing. I have always loved Natalie's reviews which are not only  insightful, but honest and detailed. Over the past two years I have gotten quite a few recommendations for her.

Angelfire by L.A. Weatherly: I won this one from Leanne at Daisy Chain Reviews and enjoyed the  unique angel story. Leanne is another reviewer who I admire and read daily because her reviews are always well-written and passionate.

Tomorrow When the War Began by John Mardsen: If you have never read one of Nome's reviews at Ink Crush then I highly recommend you do. I think I would probably read anything she recommends simply because her reviews are a delight and her taste in books are impeccable.

The Piper's Son by Melinda Marchetta: Another recommendation from Nome's at Ink Crush

Unearthly by Cynthia Heard: Yet another recommendation from Nome's at Ink Crush

The Gathering by Kelly Armstrong: After reading Kay's review of this book over at Dead Book Darling Book Reviews I immediately went out and got it for myself and this became on of my favorite reads this year.

Stork by Wendy Delsol: Lori at Pure Imagination is another blogger I go to for great reviews. While Stork did not get a lot buzz, it was Lori's review that made me want to read it and I really loved it too.

Marcelo in the Real World by Francisco X. Stork: After reading Sab's review of this I knew I had to read it too. Sab's YA Bliss blog is another one I visit daily for terrific reviews. I have gotten a lot of recommendations from her in the past couple years.

While I am sure that there are a number of books I have pick up due to other bloggers, over the past two years I am not sure which ones specifically came from individual bloggers. I do know that had I not read reviews about the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly, and the Chaos Walking series, by Patrick Ness, I would have never picked these up.
